The Company...
Introduction
Regency
Construction is a small
and recently formed Plastering and Building Contracting Company based
in Midsomer
Norton and Radstock, just outside of Bath.
Regency
Construction was set up in 2004 and is
owned by Jon Durrant. Jon is a plasterer by trade and has worked in the
building industry for over
7 years. Jon is a qualified Dry liner (City & Guilds NVQ Level
2) and also a recognised Contractor under the Construction
Skills
Certification Scheme (CSCS).
As
well as undertaking work for private clients, Jon undertakes
plastering work for a number of the large national house builders
including Barratt Homes, Bellway Homes, Bloor Homes, Charles Church,
David Wilson Homes, Redrow, George Wimpey, Persimmons and McCarthy and
Stone
From Jon's experience, Regency
Construction
have built up an extensive network of sub-contractors who carry out a
wide range of building trades including Electricians, Plumbers and
Carpenters. These are sub-contractors whose work is
personally known to Jon and whose work reaches the high standards
expected. Using this network, Regency
Construction
is able to carry out projects which have elements other than plastering.
Regency
Construction is now expanding
from commercial building sites to take on further work for
Private and Business Customers.
Company
Ethos
In Construction, there is
generally a right way of doing a job
and many wrong ways of doing a job. At Regency Construction we believe
that the right way of doing a job involves:
- Understanding what the
Customer's needs
- Making sure that the job is
planned properly
- Making sure that the
detailing in the job meets recognised
building details
- Providing realistic and
truthful estimates
- Properly preparing surfaces
for the next stage of construction
- Using trade quality materials
- Using the materials in
accordance with the Manufacturer's
instructions
- Allowing the correct drying
times
- Using competent persons to
carry out the work
- Ensuring that the Customer
is happy with the finished work
- Ensuring that the job is
left in a tidy condition
Regency Construction aims only to be competitive with other Contractors
who provide a similar level of service. Regency Construction
does
not aim to be directly competitive with other 'Have-a-go Builders' who
are willing to rush through the work, cut corners and add-on 'extras'
for 'unforeseen events'. Whilst initially these 'Have-go-Builders' may
appear to be cheaper, in the long term having to put right work can be
much more expensive than having the job done properly in the first
place.
