Information and Useful Links to Midsomer Norton 

Midsomer Norton is a town in Somerset, England, 10 miles south-west of Bath, 10 miles north-east of Wells, 10 miles north-west of Frome, and 16 miles south-east of Bristol. Midsomer Norton has a population of 10,458. Together with neighbouring Midsomer Norton and the smaller settlements of Clandown, Westfield and Haydon, Radstock is part of the conurbation and civil parish of Norton Radstock. Midsomer Norton is in the unitary authority of Bath and North East Somerset.

Midsomer Norton started to grow and became a transport hub, with the development of the Somerset coalfield with several pits providing employment until their closure in the 1960s. Unfortunatley Midsomer Norton's railway stations have closed but the old station is currently being restored by Somerset and Dorset Railway Heritage Trust.


Midsomer Norton has also had a history of printing and packaging industries but these have now largely gone. In recent years, Midsomer Norton has increasingly become a commuter town for the nearby cities of Bath and Bristol.

Regency Construction has strong links with Midsomer Norton. The owner's family has lived in the Midsomer Noorton area for more than 3 generations and is proud of his connections to the Midsomer Norton area. Jon's father served his apprenticeship and Strachen and Henshaw in Bath, then going on to work at Purnells printing factory in Paulton and eventually owning Coombend Fish Bar in Radstock. Jon's mother was a Counsellor working in Midsomer Norton and an active member of Radstock Methodist Church. Jon, was born and educated in Midsomer Norton, and now lives and works in Radstock and Midsomer Norton.
